We’re beyond excited to welcome Mestre Gilmar from Maracatu Estrela Brilhante de Igarassu (Pernambuco, Brazil) — one of the most powerful and traditional maracatu nations in the world.
Mestre Gilmar is a master percussionist, culture bearer, and teacher who lives and breathes the rhythms of maracatu and coco. Expect deep grooves, rich history, and serious energy straight from the source.
Whether you’re new to the rhythms or already experienced, this is a rare chance to learn and connect with the roots of the music we love ❤️
